Ripple XRP Ledger Developers Get Python Implementation


RippleX engineers announced that XRP Ledger, a decentralized platform for XRP token and related assets, now has another implementation.

The XRPL-focused RippleX development platform team has released a brand new library that greatly simplifies the XRP Ledger coding process. The new extension, called xrpl-py, is written in Python, one of the most popular programming languages ​​in the world.

According to Ripple’s official announcement released by development platform RippleX, a “pure” Python implementation has been released to interact with the XRP Ledger, xrpl-py. Monica Long, General Manager of RippleX at Ripple, congratulated the RippleX development team and highlighted the importance of the new tool for Python developers and all XRPL enthusiasts.

As stated in Ripple’s statement, the XRP Ledger had previously only Java and JavaScript implementations. Thus, the Python developers had to either switch to a less familiar language or rely on third-party libraries. The xrpl-py library includes tools for the full range of XRP Ledger functions, including transaction processing, key generation, converting between different types of addresses, and viewing blockchain information.

The RippleX team has tried to make the xrpl-py development experience suitable for both Python gurus and newbies. Newbies will love the higher-level features that remove a lot of unnecessary detail and provide useful interfaces for developers. Experienced Python developers can experiment with lower-level tools and features. The RippleX team has released a rich collection of guides and tutorials and even launched a Twitch stream to present their new release. In addition, RippleX shared its ambition to open new libraries for other programming languages ​​very soon, along with additions to xrpl-py.
