So my account was recently restricted from sending crypto – nothing else.
Come to find out it’s because I’m sending it to a fishy address (I’m like 100 percent positive this is the reason). Well the fishy address happens to be my own address (Yoroi wallet, so I could stake my cardano)
So now my account is restricted because Coinbase thinks my own personal wallet address to my ledger is a fishy address. My account is supposedly restricted until July 30th at the earliest. I’m not gonna hold my breath.
I get it though, Coinbase wants to stop money laundering and criminal things. Totally understand. Coinbase doesn’t seem to care to ask me for proof that the address was my own. I could provide proof that the address is mine and show proof all I did was send out all my cardano to Yoroi so I could stake my ADA.
Edit – I did send some screenshots of my ledger wallet showing the time stamps and the amount of cardano received to the ledger address. This was sent via the email they last communicated with me on.
I feel like this is just beyond acceptable. I do understand why they did this though! I get it completely – but I just don’t understand why they can’t tell me why, or what I can do to fix it. I’m left to just make assumptions and try to send them proof of things when I’m not even sure of the reason I have the restriction in the first place.
I’m saying this because if anyone of you has a ledger and linked it to Yoroi, be very careful, because I believe Coinbase has flagged addresses like these. I could be wrong, but it’s a huge coincidence that immediately after I send all my ADA to my Yoroi ledger, I get slapped with an account restriction.
It would be different if I could transfer my crypto between Coinbase pro and Coinbase, but if I wanna sell anything now I have to sell it on the actual Coinbase app and incur huge fees. I’m very disappointed in how I’m being treated. I’ve been with Coinbase for almost 3 years. I’m fully verified. I pay my taxes, and I’m the type of user that Coinbase wants – (Law abiding)
I previously posted here, but I hope this helps some of you.
If any Coinbase MOD reads this, I sincerely hope you take into consideration everything I’ve said and give me the opportunity to prove to you that the address I sent to is perfectly safe and belongs to me.
