In Italy, an attempt on a girl’s life, paid for with bitcoins, was prevented

Milan police have arrested a 40-year-old local who ordered a brutal attack on his ex-girlfriend for € 10,000 in bitcoins. This is reported by local media.

The suspect, an information technology specialist for a large corporation, had a hard time breaking off relations between November 2018 and July 2020. After the girl once again rejected his gifts and refused to meet, the Italian decided to take revenge.

According to the investigation, he hired a man on the darknet who was supposed to attack the victim under the guise of robbery and literally “break her back” so that she remained paralyzed. In the future, the killer needed to watch the girl on the street and throw acid in her face.

For the service, the attacker made an advance payment in bitcoins. In total, the killer was supposed to receive almost € 10,000 ($ 11,900).

Police launched an investigation in February after colleagues at Interpol warned them of suspicious darknet correspondence.

The suspect is now under house arrest. He is charged with attempted grievous bodily harm and persecution.

We will remind, in February, the US authorities arrested a 37-year-old resident of Wisconsin on charges of attempting to organize a contract murder. According to media reports, she paid the killer $ 5,633 in cryptocurrency.
