Help understanding Ledger Live.

Hey guys, hoping someone can shed some light here. I recently bought a ledger Nano X and I have slowly been transferring my assets over from the exchange that I purchased them from.

Today I attempted to transfer the last of my DOT over to my ledger. Before doing so I noticed the ledger app stated Ledger Live was down for my Polkadot wallet due to a recent update. Despite this I stupidly attempted to transfer the remainder of my DOT over to my wallet.

Now here’s where I am confused.. The wallet address that I transferred the crypto to was already saved on my other exchange as i’ve transferred to it previously. As a result, I didn’t bother checking that the wallet address on the Ledger matches the app. Now upon inspecting it, I noticed the address shown on my nano X has a few digits that differ from the hardware address that I’ve transferred to previously and what was shown on the Ledger live app.

It appears to be something to do with the recent DOT updates.

Can anyone explain if the 5 DOT i transferred over is lost forever or can it be recovered?

What do you think?

  1. The Polkadot app should work now, just update to 2.3.0 and the app should synchronize. But for a quick two min check, put the wallet address you have from your ledger or exchange in this and that should show you if your DOT made it or not. You can also look up the transactions in subscan as well. Hopes this helps, other than that the only thing I can think of is maybe malware on your computer… But try the first two options and go from there.
