So around 4:30 pm today my phone started blowing up with text messages. Texts from all different random apps that i dont use with one time passwords, download links, and other random garbage. In total i received over 400 messages over the course of about 2.5 hours. I called my service provider to see if there was anything I could do. They said they’d never heard of such a thing and suggested i block each individual number. So that’s what I started doing. I had blocked about 3/4 of them when I saw it, a message from coinbase saying my password had been changed, right in the middle of the onslaught of messages. I immediately went to CB to see if I could log in. Nope. Tried to reset my password, no email being sent to my account email. I submitted a note to customer support and they have supposedly temporarily locked my account. At this point I am assuming the worst, but i cant even confirm that they were able to take the crypto out of the account because i have no access to it. I just don’t understand how someone was able to bypass 2FA and get access. Anyone ever had any similar experiences or any advice?
No one else has had access to any of my devices. I did not leave my house all day. no one in my life even knows I have crypto. I don’t even post on reddit or anywhere online normally. It makes no fucking sense
